WELFARE SERVICES Cooroy/Pomona RSL Sub Branch
Officers of the RSL Sub Branch provide a range of services to Sub Branch members and the Veteran community. Those services can be accessed by contacting the RSL on 5447 6131 or by contacting the responsible officer on the phone numbers detailed below.
Hospital Visitor
The Hospital Visitor will visit veterans who are confined to hospitals or nursing homes and who request the service. He / she will be a friendly and sympathic person (who is also a veteran) and who will be in a position to arrange for other services if required. If your hospital / nursing home have veterans who you feel would benefit from a visit or regular visits from the Hospital Visitor you should contact – John Diprose on 5447 9355 or via email on denverd@linkt.com.au

Welfare Officer
The Welfare Officer is available to provide ongoing support to vets who require assistance and advice in their day to day activities and who are in the main not confined to hospitals or nursing homes. The Welfare Officer will however provide support to the veterans’ partners and if necessary endeavour to arrange for assistance for partners to visit hospitals and nursing homes. The Welfare Officer will also arrange for the up grading of access provisions to the ageing veteran and the partner to cope with day to day life. Pensions Officer
The Pensions Officer is available to provide assistance and advice with regards to veteran’s claims for compensation, Service Pensions, Widows Pensions and any other pension or compensation issues. Womens' Auxilliary
We are pleased to announce the reforming of the Cooroy/Pomona Sub-Branch Womens Auxiliary. The committee and neucleus of the auxiliary are already active with their first activity being a raffle which is being conducted at the RSL Club Thursday evenings for the month of February. The Auxiliary has as its aims - to promote friendship - to fund raise on behalf of the sub-branch - to help veterans wives and partners - to help the sub-branch throughout the year. We would be happy to talk to prospective new members and we can be contacted by phoning either Lyn Hutchinson on 54425690 or Lyn Morgan on 54851025. Our meetings are held at the club on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 10.00 am.
Meeting Times
RSL Sub branch meeting are held on the second Monday of each month at the new time of 5pm (not 6pm as previous) except for January where no meeting is held and February which is the AGM.
